Knowing

“Rush to Rappahannock,” oil on panel, 16 x 20

Knowing

If you told me
mountains really smoke
and trees hum in tones deeper
than drums…

If you showed me
a thousand shades of moss
and stones wiser
than time…

If you took me
to the place where water
laughs and the stars
never end…

Then, I would
know all
I ever needed
to know.
