Cement City Sunshine

When she comes flowing through the streets
You can watch the hungry people meet
Like the funky city blues
Like a couple one on one

She’s the sister to the sun
And she supercedes reality
And shells take away the pain

Its a short trip into fantasy
Then it all comes back again
Though her keeper sells her sweetheart
She’s your soul cut seven times

She’s a dancer called desire
But that’s only while you fly

There’s a landing strip called prison
Where a broken clock tells time
Where release is known as freedom
Or just temporary fear

Til the answer comes in whispers
And the thunder leaves your ears
Like the angry man who’s frightened
Like the clown who lives in tears

So the dialog is flowers
Who’s sweet scents you cannot smell
As you ride a silent casket

And you say goodbye to hell
