mixed media using vintage Japanese papers 8″ x 8″ x 7/8″ on cradled wood panel
Christine is inspired by nature and biomorphic forms in creating her assemblages, with a reverence for the abundance of plant and sea life and the beauty of the earth. As a counterpoint, Christine loves geometry, pattern and design in creating her collages.
She uses mixed media such as raw canvas, tea, bookbinding threads, vintage and altered papers, encaustics and paint. Christine’s art is process oriented, animated by the contemplative repetition and layering of materials and the poetic use of space. Christine has exhibited in New York City, Seoul, Korea, the Netherlands and throughout the U.S. She is a published poet and her words inform her visual art. She also writes features of other artist’s work for Gallery&Studio Magazine.
