Tsai has been exploring the body-mind-spirit theme for years. She seeks her work as a medium for the public to be more aware of things outside our limited realm of understanding. She consider physical forms as vehicles for our spirit to enrich more experience. Be it as minerals, plants, animals, and humans are merely a vehicle of feelings and reactions. It is called the life cycle. The physical form come and thrive, and then wither or disintegrate. It is our physical body changes from one shape to another through many lives. Art runs through the same cycle. Her works reflect on the nature or spirit of things, but also on the objects themselves. Through art, she transmits and reflects her inner vision from nature, animals, human beings, and mysticism to the viewers. She questions society’s beliefs through various aspects of her work, striving to provide various ways of interpreting and viewing her works beyond the stereotypical biases in the society.
“Fragment of Time” is a photographic series focus on tick of the clock in our presence life. The main subject, mushrooms, appeared at corner of a wood wall in the raining day for a night quietly and withered after.
